a symbol of strength

flighty and wild
flitting this way and that
all through the earth
one stands firmly rooted
through the days of its life
a refuge and shelter for all who need
the other seeks freedom
new adventures every day
bringing stories from faraway lands
two unlikely Friends
so different
yet so connected
the wind dances with the tree
they create a song
of rustling leaves
as its long arms sway
and the tree reminds the wind to linger
to savour the scent
of the leaves it passes through
lest it loses all sense of purpose
